The Future Mobility Asia Exhibition & Summit 2024 is the mobility platform where information about the most delinquent clean vehicle concepts, technology, and innovative solutions are being discussed. This exhibition is officially hosted by the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand, co-located with Future LNG Asia and Future Energy Asia.
This year, the event was held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, Bangkok, Thailand between the 15th to 17th of May. It was attended by many ministers and policymakers, leaders with their research teams, resellers and distributors, transportation authorities, and many experts from the finance, legal, and media industries.
The visitors of the exhibition are able to experience first-hand the latest innovations in sustainable mobility options. More emphasis was given to smart infrastructure and the expansion of electric vehicles and hydrogen energy technology in order to continue moving forward with the vision of net-zero emissions.
The forum itself gave visitors access to industry leaders and government personnel who are vigorously working on altering the energy value chain in the continent. The forum held discussions among top influential figures concerning entering the era of clean mobility.
Panelists, Jonathan Vargas Ruiz, head of ASEAN Automotive Strategy, Sean Kim, CEO of TADA, Hoe Mung Wong, CEO of GoCar, and Ladi Delamo, Co-founder of Moove, had a healthy discussion about players acclimating to the innovative solutions, despite shifting factors, such as affordability considerations, chances of consumers preferring to lease over owning an EV and the strategies players need to adapt to evolving consumer preferences.
Exhibitors from Pakistan at Future Mobility Asia
Pakistan Pavilion participated in the Future Mobility Asia Exhibition 2024 organized by USAID’s Power Sector Improvement Activity (PSIA). It shows the evolution between local electric mobility brands focusing on the two- and three-wheeler market. Not only this, but it also demonstrates PSIA’s commitment to the US-Pakistan Green Alliance initiative to build sustainable transportation in Pakistan.
Mode Mobility LTD, another engineer and design startup was part of the exhibition. This startup is already at the progressive product development stage of its first product, C-Series scooters, designed especially for women. It is their commitment to empowering women by making their travels easier.
Sazgar Engineering Works Limited has been working in the automotive sector in Pakistan for more than three decades. They also were part of FMA 24 to expand their export business beyond the 20 countries where they are already exporting automobile parts. Sazgar manufactured and started commercial production of their first-ever fully electric auto rickshaw back in 2021.
The final exhibitor from Pakistan this year was Yes Electromotive Limited. Established in 2019, this company designs, engineers, and manufactures electric vehicles. Using their cutting-edge technology and R&D facility, they are dedicated to bringing a creative touch to the automotive market. At FMA 2024, they displayed their 3-wheeler, Muva, and electric autonomous-ready shuttle Campus Transit..
The Future of Electric Vehicles in Pakistan
We are already seeing rapid development in clean mobility with the emergence of many locally manufactured brands. Pakistan’s National Electric Vehicle Policy (2020) encourages the manufacturing of EVs across all vehicle segments. A few benefits in regard to this policy include import concessions for the charger and components of EVs, and duty-free installation of plants and machinery for local EV production, among others.
This represents our commitment to international platforms and highlights Pakistan’s contribution to the global electric mobility market. It is predicted to cross over $718 Billion by 2030 with Asia leading the global shift to carbon-neutral mobility. Pakistan is now looking forward to finding ways to supply power from clean sources. In the long run, the rising investments in the EV industry and the development of NPPs will help Pakistan in meeting its target while also guiding through international coercion.
This sounds like a great initiative! Creating a community forum for vehicle enthusiasts in Pakistan to discuss NEV technology can be a great tool. With thousands of like-minded people coming together to share their knowledge and insights, this platform can provide a wealth of information on the latest developments in electrical technology as well as discussions on various topics related to EVs. It also provides a place to chat. I am sure it will be exciting to be a part of this community and learn from others who are passionate about sustainable and innovative technology.
